A rat existed in the middle of an empty black room. The floor covered in square black tiles. This is the only room that the rat existed in and the only room the rat will ever exist in. The rat can’t exist anywhere else and nothing alive but the rat can exist within these walls.
At noon, from one of the walls, 28 stairs would come out. If one was standing staring at the wall, they might not even notice the stairs ever entering or leaving the room. The rat began climbing the stairs at noon and took 6 minutes to climb the stairs. Each stair was a giant leap for the rat. The rat took its time with each stair. When the rat reached the end of the stairs, out of instinct it jumped again. However, this time, it fell to the floor and died. The instant it died, the stairs disappeared into the wall once more. The tile below the dead body opened like a trapdoor. Any blood that didn’t fell with the rat quickly evaporated, as if the floor itself heated up to fasten it.
At 12:08 a rat comes sliding in from one of the wall’s corner, stopping when it hits the opposite wall. It would wait till noon the next day when the stairs came once again.
** A rat existed in the middle of a black room. This is the only room that the rat existed in and the only room the rat will ever exist in. The rat can’t exist anywhere else and nothing but the rat can exist within these walls.
At noon, from one of the walls, 28 stairs would come out. If one was standing staring at the wall, they might not even notice the stairs ever entering or leaving the room.
The rat began climbing the stairs at noon. In 3 minutes it had climbed 14 stairs. However at the 14th stair it stopped. The rat climbed down the stairs and started running around the room. After not coming across anything else but the stairs in his laps around the room, the rat realised there was nothing in this room except a great surface to run around. The rat started sniffing, it sniffed every corner of the room but didn’t find anything. The rat was however not in dismay, it simply decided to lay on his back for a bit.
After the rest, the rat walked to a corner of the room and ran as fast as he could towards the corner opposite him. The rat collided with the wall head first. It laid there as the blood slowly filled the space around his head, his belly slowly rising and falling. The rat was still alive. Like the stairs before, a small block emerged from the ground below. The block held the rat but only barely. If the rat could move around and had, he would have immediately fallen off. If you saw the block rise from above, you would only see the rat getting closer, not the block itself.
The block slowly rose up to the height of the 28th stair, it then slowly moved towards the 28th stair and came to a stop right at it’s edge. It blended into the stairs as if always been a part of the structure.
The block tipped onto one of its edges and the rat slipped from it, leaving a streak of blood behind. It fell and hit the floor with a soft thud. The belly stopped moving. The stairs and block receded back to their original places. The block following the exact same path in the opposite. The tile opened again like a trapdoor and the blood evaporated. The room looked like it did before and as soon as it did a rat came sliding in from one of the wall’s corner, stopping when it hit the opposite wall.
